Good
Location was very near to food establishments and the beach.
Breakfast area was too small relative to the number of guests that the hotel accommodates. You'll have to wait in line to take a seat or wake up very early for breakfast. The location of the breakfast area is also near the reception area w/c makes the situation very chaotic when breakfast area is packed and other guests are waiting in the lobby to check-out or check-in.

What was the highlight of Savoy Hotel Mactan
Exceptional location, but don't expect much from the actual hotel.
The location is really amazing. It is located in the new Newtown area where there are restaurants, coffeshops, massage places, and grocery stores. The private beach area shared with Belmont Hotel is beautifully designed. It is a 5 minute walk away and the hotel provides a shuttle around 4x a day. The actual beach part is quite small, but it is safe and enjoyable.
I find the hotel restaurant a bit lacking in facilities. The restaurant is very small and the food was sadly, not good. We tried the buffet breakfast which had a very small selection. We also had a late dinner where proportions were large but the food was lacking in taste. On our last day, while waiting for our ride to the airport, we also had coffee and some pastries, and the pastries tasted like they've been on display for a while. The rooms were disappointing when it came to cleanliness. We found a cockroach on the bed on one of the rooms. Curtains and rugs where visibly and palpably dirty and dusty. Some of the rooms had a hairdryer and some did not. The exhaust fan in the toilet in 4 of our rooms did not work. The A/C temperature was capped because it was quite warm regardless of the setting that we chose. We asked to borrow the towels in exchange for a deposit, but they refused. Staff are friendly and courteous but lacked urgency. Response rate and time was unsatisfactory. When we ordered drinks in the pool area, they arrived after around 10-15 minutes. Whenever we requested stuff from the hotel concierge, such as fresh towels/hairdryers etc, they never arrived in our rooms.
